Canine Good Citizen(CGC)
The Canine Good Citizen course is designed to socialize and prepare your dog for unexpected sounds and behaviors that the animal may experience in a session with a client.
The dog will learn that his/her role is to create a harmonious, loving environment. The dog will be able to nurture children or people who particularly need this type of service. Animals can often reach people in ways that we cannot. The animals help with the handler create the right atmosphere for the person to open up or to calm down.
The Canine Good Citizen course is a pre-requisite to the Pet Therapy Prep course.
After successful completion of this course, you will obtain a Canine Good Citizen certification from American Kennel Club (AKC).
